Visayas
The Visayas is a group of islands in Central Philippines. This is an ideal area for us to concentrate on for this trip because I speak two of their main dialects AND they have awesome beaches!
We will be concentrating our trip in this area since we've already been to Manila (which Gregg is not too fond of) and we want to focus on visiting places we've never been to with a little bit of island hopping as well.
This will have to be a delicate balance. We want to see just enough of some cities or towns to appease our innate "urban-ness" and to allow us to observe the culture and way of life in Cebu or Bacolod or wherever. But we also want to lounge around on a beach with white sand and clear blue waters. Preferably with a cool, fruity beverage in one hand and a book (or in my case, Nook) in the other. At the same time, we get too bored if we're at the beach for too many days. Unless there are a lot of activities nearby or a town to go to. As I said, a delicate balance. Much forethought, I will need.
